DMDD Diagnosis
Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder (DMDD) is a childhood mood disorder marked by chronic irritability and frequent temper outbursts that are extreme in both intensity and duration. These emotional outbursts severely interfere with a child's social, academic, and family life, often making everyday situations overwhelming. Diagnosed primarily in children under 10, DMDD can lead to long-term emotional and behavioral challenges if left untreated. Early diagnosis and intervention—through therapy, parent training, and in some cases, medication—are critical in helping affected children learn emotional regulation and build healthier relationships.
